Summer bodies are made in the Winter!

Summer bodies are made in the winter.

Lately the weather in Boston has been..... less than tropical. Actually, it's been freezing, we've had three snow emergencies in the past month and it's quite slushy and cold. That said, one thing is on my mind and that is summer. This is the time that no one really wants to go out, but if you aren't hitting the gym right now, and watching what you eat, there is no way that you will be ready for summer.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not dying to get up, throw on my gym clothes, make my coffee, and put on heavy winter boots, a winter hat gloves, coat scarf, and trudge through the blowing snow to get to the gym, but what choice do I have?  The weather changes quickly, and I'm thinking about one thing, and that is to be feeling great and looking great when it is time to wear shorts and dresses. It's funny because, although I am not dying to go to the gym right now, after I go my mood is lifted unbelievably so. The energy that I get from finishing my workout is amazing and it's funny to think that I could be dragging my feet at the beginning of them.

So many times I hear people say two weeks before they go on vacation, or three weeks before summer really starts that they are going to "get into shape". Here's the truth, it's too late by then.  I mean as far as I'm concerned I'm happy when ever someone decides to start but if they decide to start then they're not going to do it in a healthy way and let's face it you're not going to get there because they just don't have enough time to truly commit to it.

Here is to working hard now, to laying the groundwork for a fantastic body during the summer and not giving up. Visualize what you will look and feel like when you get what you want. There is no quick, easy way to get a flat stomach and toned legs but with hard work and dedication you can do it.

Please comment this blog and tell me what you were doing right now to get ready for summer and what your goals are?  Xoxo, Megan
