For times of silence For those of you that know me, I am relentlessly positive. Thier have been so many times in my life that I could have/should have cried, but I found a way to power through, and find the positive in a situation. The glass is half full, not half empty. Right now though, I have no words. I feel shallow, and guilty focusing on the things I often do. I... read more

Life is precious

by Megan on Thu, 04/18/2013 - 5:32pm | 0 comments

I've been quiet for a few days, and wanted to check in for a few minutes to let you know that I am ok. As some of you may know, I live in Boston, and in close proximately to where the bombings took place during the Boston Marathon last week. I was driving home from a training session with Ben Bruno in North Andover when I started seeing an unbelievable number of police cars speed by wit... read more
I'll always remember what some of the teachers in school told me as I tried to learn the basics of being a hairstylist. You're too slow, you'll never make it, you're wearing the wrong outfit. The list goes on and on. Some days I didn't want to go to school, and I started to doubt myself. People love to tell you what you can and can't do. Your heels are too high, your n... read more
Standing on the scale is such a funny thing isn't it? I've personally found that there is NO magic number on the scale that pleases me. There's something so awful about stepping on, and seeing what number it decides to show that day. Have a salty meal, or a hard workout yesterday? Add three pounds. Drink two glasses of wine without enough hydration? Minus two pounds, add one smal... read more

My training with Bret Contreras

by Megan on Mon, 04/08/2013 - 3:56am | 0 comments

Strong Curves by Bret Contreras is a book that I think most women could benefit from reading.... As some of you may or may not know, Bret Contreras is one of the people who coaches me, and gets me ready for my fitness competitions, and helps me with my programs throughout the year, so that I stay toned and lean. One of the reasons that I have worked with Bret for several years is that I... read more

Going Back to Cali and Fitness Traveling Tips

by Megan on Wed, 04/03/2013 - 5:59pm | 0 comments

I’m currently in the lovely and sunny California. I’m here to meet with one of my favorite people, Valerie Waters. She is the creator of Valslides, and if you read review of her products, then you know why I adore them so. These days more and more people for work and pleasure (myself included) so I decided to put a blog together that talks about how I incorporate fitness and nu... read more

Margarine Confusion and Why Butter is Always Better

by Megan on Thu, 03/28/2013 - 9:35pm | 0 comments

One of my favorite parts of being a fitness model and professional woman is the traveling. Why, well because of the breakfasts to put it bluntly. I’ll order two eggs, whole wheat toast, some black coffee, and substitute fresh fruit for any typical carbs like greasy hash browns. However, on my last travel-breakfast something shocking happened. The waiter proudly announced, “We saw you... read more

Get Fabulous Fitness with Fiber

by Megan on Wed, 03/27/2013 - 9:38pm | 3 comments

This last Sunday I read an intriguing article in the New York Times about a woman who claims to have solved the obesity conundrum through fiber. They’re calling it the F-Factor these days, but I and many others have been preaching this stuff for years. The woman who created it, Tanya Zuckerbrot, is 40 years old with three kids, as busy as I am, and looks absolutely stunning. In fact, it&rs... read more

Make Time to Get Fit Despite A Busy Schedule

by Megan on Mon, 03/25/2013 - 11:30pm | 0 comments

Often people write me asking me how I look the way I do, and when I tell I get, “Oh, I’m too busy for that.” Really? The essential difference between people who use that reply and myself is that I recognize it for what it is, an excuse for people that don’t take fitness or being lean as seriously as I do. Or any other fitness model who ever lived. Fitness doesn’t fi... read more

Workout and Fitness Clothes I Love

by Megan on Thu, 03/21/2013 - 9:50pm | 0 comments

Having comfortable clothes that look good at the gym motivates me to get in there and work hard. It took me a while to find workout clothes I absolutely adore, but I've undoubtedly found my favorites from Elizabetta Rogiani, an Italian born, Los Angeles based designer. Contour Your Fitness with Couture You may not have heard of Couture Fitness, and she does have a lovely name, but I&r... read more
