Does the food at your house (in your fridge) support your fitness goals?

What's inside your fridge, and your cabinets?  If you are trying to get lean, or stay lean... the majority of your food should be fresh, and need refridgeration. If your cabinets are filled with food that expires in 5 years, you may have a problem getting lean.

On any given day, if you open up my fridge, it's filled with fresh, nutrient dense food, that is in wholefoods form.  This is great for a few different reasons:  I have to put forth some effort to actually make something, which makes easy, quick, mindless snacking very difficult and the food takes more effort for my body to digest, which means I burn more calories.  Winning....

An example of what you might find in my fridge?  Red and yellow peppers, baby carrots and celery, all of which I cut, and put in tupperware in advance for snacks.  Fresh strawberries, spinach, butternut squash, sweet potatoes and broccoli.  Lemon juice, almond milk, organic chicken, steak, hummus, salsa, fresh ginger....  In my cabinets: trail mix made with raw, unsalted nuts, raisins and cranberries, natural peanut butter, honey, spices, cocunut milk.  I don't keep anything at home that is so delicious that I can't stop eating it.  Everything is good, but not soooo good that I would have a problem controlling myself.  I save things like mini cupcakes and white bread for saturday nights:)

Sucessfully reaching a goal is really all about habits.  Keeping your fridge stocked with healthy, fresh food is essential for getting, and staying lean.  What's in your fridge?
