Remember that it only has to be one time. So many times in my life I slipped up on my plan, and the guilt from that one slip was enough to send me on a binge for two days. In a perfect world we would all be able to resist every treat that was put before us, and we would plan ahead for every single meal thus staying on plan 100 percent of the time. In my world it’s all about damage control. When you get caught off guard and eat something that wasn’t on your nutritional plan (and yes, will probably negate any progress you would have made today….let it go and make better choices for your next meal. You can’t lose all of your progress in 1 meal, but you can easily gain 2 pounds a week if you start feeling sorry for yourself and succumb to the “I already screwed up so I might as well make it worse” mentality. Pick yourself back up, remember what the body that you want looks like, and how good it will feel when you get it, and keep going! Reward yourself with something special when you have a great day, you deserve it….and it will help you actualize your dreams.
