Finding your own value, and deciding how far you will go.

I'll always remember what some of the teachers in school told me as I tried to learn the basics of being a hairstylist.  You're too slow, you'll never make it, you're wearing the wrong outfit.  The list goes on and on.  Some days I didn't want to go to school, and I started to doubt myself.

People love to tell you what you can and can't do.  Your heels are too high, your nose isn't straight enough, you need at least this score on the SAT's, and you better graduate from an Ivy League School.  There's a constant background that we all start to hear, and it's the things that people tell us are possible, but most likely they tell us that they are impossible.  If I listened to one quarter of the things that I was told I could never do, I wouldn't be doing much today.  I just remember thinking: Well, someone did it already, so why can't I?  And I did.....:)

You decide.  Run as fast as you want.  Only you know how quickly that is.  They tell you that your genetics will only go so far?  You show them what hard work and dedication brings.  If anyone puts a limit on you.....make it your limit.  Your boundaries are only set by you.

When someone says you can't, show them that you can.  Use their words as the fuel for the fire it takes to be great.  Don't ever listen when they tell you you can't.  Keep growing, eveolving, changing.  Never give up.

Stay beautiful!
